Willpower Cookies

Today I share an old recipe from my old recipe box. This one comes courtesy of my working days at the oil company. One day someone brought in some delicious cookies, I begged for the recipe and “Viola”… here it is. They are called Power Cookies but I am renaming them “Willpower Cookies” as in I have no willpower against these cookies. Also, I should mention they make more cookies than should be legally allowed. 180 (that’s one hundred and eighty people). Freeze and gift right away. If you are coming over in the next year, guess what cookies you will be eating… that’s right.

Willpower Cookies

1. 2 c. brown sugar
2 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. softened butter
1 c. vegetable shortening
2. 4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3. 3 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
4. 3 c. uncooked oats
2 c. coconut
2 c. raisins
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Combine ingredients in numbered order.
Drop by teaspoonfuls (or melon baller).
Bake at 350 degrees for 8 min. or until light browned.
Allow to cool 1 minute before removing from pan.
Can be formed into rolls and sliced and baked. Enjoy!

About Frazzled Mom

I'm a homeschooling mom of two boys (High School and Junior High). I've been at it for eight years and enjoy the closeness with my boys. Homeschooling doesn't define me, but it is a big part of who I am. I enjoy cooking with an emphasis on the Cajun flavors of my childhood. I enjoy decorating and sharing my ideas with my friends. Mostly I love my Savior, Jesus. I write about what he's teaching me and what he's still working on in me. I love reading your comments and questions.
